agent Nat Finer arranges for her to meet crooks Hayden and Fuller

and photographed in porno poses. The photos begin appearing
at her door. Nat's corpse is then found in an alley. The
blackmailers offer Shawn a five-year management contract. Two-leaf,

slipped out to pay the blackmailers and he is tailing her car.

has just picked up Lucille the lion, who had been repossessed by a
meat company because of an unpaid food bill. Two-leaf and Dan

2. THE GAMES GIRLS PLAY
9/27/78 Highly respected Senator William Mitchell is photographed in a suggestive pose with two classy girls. The photographer is also a lady. The hypocritical Senator explains to a skeptical Dan Tanna that these were "legitimate" ladies but important legislation (an anti-pornography bill) will be jeopardized if the incident is publicized. He wants the negatives. Linda Stockwood (the photographer) and her two girlfriends, Helen Martin and Doris Howard, are followed by a hood, Jason. He attacks Linda in her room but is frightened away leaving Linda glad her money was all he got. The Senator sees Linda's picture in the paper and tells Dan that she is the woman who photographed him. Dan later discovers that the three women are wealthy, married women from Beverly Hills. It doesn't make sense even when he finds the Senator's photos in Linda's room. Linda tells Dan later that the three of them got involved in these capers from pure boredom. Leaving the club wearing Linda's coat, Helen is run down by Jason. A short time later, Jason receives a call telling him he got the wrong woman. The three husbands arrive at the hospital where Helen is still unconscious. Dan has Bella check on the men and she finds out that Jonathan Stockwood is in deep financial trouble. Jonathan calls Linda and tells her to bring Dan to a nearby construction site where he attempts to kill them both. Later, Dan learns that Jonathan is after Linda's inheritance. Mother is pursued by two toughs with tarantulas, who follow her to the ranch of Dan's Indian friend Elijah Two-Leaf. Omar and Gaylord, when captured, implicate Worthmeyer's secretary. 4. LOVE, LAUGH OR DIE
10/18/78 While Binzer is busy staking out ladies rooms in search of a pair of beautiful twins, Dan takes on a puzzling murder case. Re-formed call girl Lexy Gardner has left a frantic message on Tanna's answering machine just before being killed. Her boyfriend Brad Thomas, a writer, decks Dan with a right hook for not being available in the girl's time of need. Lexy's mother reminisces about the fresh-faced kid who failed as a singer and writer and ended up as a burned-out veteran of the Strip at age thirty. Suspicions turns to three of Lexy's old loves. Clean-cut singer Eddie Banning is a obsessive impregnator of adolescent girls. Tennis hero Lou Spitz is a former opium smuggler and the father of an underworld don's child. Construction magnate William Virgil has caused twelve deaths by violations of the building code. A typewriter and papers found at Lexy's apartment puts Dan on the trail of an unpublished manuscript she has filed with the Library of Congress. The thinly-disguised novel tells all. At a construction site where Dan and Binzer are about to be buried in cement, all three boyfriends admit that they paid for Lexy's killing. But they learn that the deals were made several hours after her death. Tanna pays a timely visit to blackmailer Brad Thomas. w. Richard Carr d. Marvin and Willie plan to run away quickly to New York but Allison has fallen for Dan and tells them to leave without her. Driven by greed, they want to pull one more job before they leave, Binzer tells Dan from the airport that he's spotted Marvin.
